What is Prove It or Lose It? How does it affect my Expert account?

In conjunction with the verification program that requires every Expert on the site to have at least one relevant credential verified by a third-party credential verification service, JustAnswer has a "Prove It or Lose It" Program that requires Experts to verify any information set forth by them in their profile – if challenged by another Expert or otherwise as allowed by JustAnswer.

If you wish to challenge another Expert’s stated credential or information, email your request to Experts@justanswer.com. You will have to pay the cost of the verification; if the verification shows that you were right, you will be reimbursed the verification cost out of the earnings of the challenged Expert. The cost to challenge an Expert's credentials, license, or education varies depending on the type of verification required. Currently, US licenses cost $8, non-US licenses cost $22, and costs to verify work history or education may vary. These funds are paid directly to the 3rd party verification vendors.

JustAnswer would like to have this process in motion within twenty-four hours of the time you are challenged. If you are unable to verify the credential that was challenged within the requested time-frame, please communicate with the administrator coordinating your verification. Experts who refuse to submit to the Prove It or Lose It challenge or are not able to successfully verify their stated credentials in response to a Prove It or Lose It challenge (as determined by JustAnswer in its sole discretion) may be banned.
